NEIGHBOURING streets were targeted by burglars who raided ten sheds and outhouses in a night.
The residents of Sandriggs and Meadowfield Road, Darlington, became victims of the crime spree between Friday night and Sunday night.
Many of the sheds were at neighbouring properties. Items including fishing tackle and gardening equipment were stolen.
In Sandriggs, seven properties were raided, followed by a further three in neighbouring Meadowfield Road.
Police believe all were burgled during the course of Saturday night.
But Detective Sergeant Alec Francis, of Darlington CID, said most of the people whose shed were targeted had taken anti-theft precautions.
"They have been locked, and I think they have probably done as much as they can to protect their property," he said.
"You cannot protect it against those who want it. All you can do is deter. Any extra security is obviously going to be a bonus."
Anyone with information about the thefts should contact police on (01325) 467681.
