YOUNG people from 72 youth groups across County Durham have been giving it the works to win a top youth work award.
The groups have already done battle in the Durham County Council competition, and four area winners have been named as finalists in the Youth Work That Works Award.
The four are: Stanley Youth Centre's Saturday Fun Club for The Queen Mother's Birthday Party; Mid Durham Project Club for its book Out and About in Former Colliery Countryside; Fishburn Youth and Community Centre drama group for an imaginative approach to performing arts; and Spennymoor Youth Centre's Know It All game, which offers fun and accurate information on health, drugs, and the law.
The award is supported by the Co-operative Bank and the winner and runner up will receive £125 and £75 respectively.
The winner will be announced on Monday, at County Hall, Durham
