SUPPORTERS of a campaign by the National Federation of Small Businesses for a cut in fuel tax say it will continue for "as long as it takes".
The Darlington branch of the federation has been at the forefront of local efforts to publicise the fight.
Chairman Peter Troy said: "Although we consider ourselves the silent majority we are going to carry on fighting for a reduction in fuel tax as long as it takes."
Mr Troy said the federation understood the motives behind the direct actions of lobby groups such as farmers and truckers, but it would not be taking part in their protests.
A huge public protest is being planned in London next month
