BEACONS of light and a series of themed trials could be on the way to help regenerate Hartlepool's Headland.
The ideas, drawn up after public consultations, are part of a public arts and environmental improvement plan to capture the spirit and history of the area.
Project coordinators have talked to residents and groups, including the Headland Local History Group, to build up a picture of the history and folklore of the area, and all residents are invited to a meeting in the bar of the Borough Hall, on the Headland, at 6.30pm tomorrow, to see the final plans, and give their views.
Proposals include a series of beacons, designed by various artists, set along the length of the promenade, to reflect the area's links with the sea.
Themed trails have also been suggested to link historical buildings and new attractions.
The Landmark Partnership has developed the plans, which will be put into action with money from the Government's Single Regeneration Budget.
Partnership spokesman Steve Laws said: "We hope as many people as possible will come to the meeting on Thursday, there are a lot of exciting plans on the table.
"The proposed environmental improvement will be attractions in themselves and will include a range of stimulating and unusual public artworks.
