Musical sisters Laura and Debbie Bury, starred at a top youth festival.
The pupils from Teesside High School, Eaglescliffe, scooped first place in the piano duet category at the Teesdale Music, Speech and Drama Tournament. Laura also won Young Musician title.
Laura, 14, notched up an impressive number of firsts at the Teesdale tournament including vocal solo 14 years and under, piano solo, junior recitals 18 years and under, woodwind solo 12 years and under.
Her sister, Debbie, 11, was first in vocal solo 11 years and under, and piano solo 14 years and under.
More than 60 trophies were awarded in a number of categories. Other recipients included Melissa Taylor, of Leyland, in the Junior Speech Championship, Sarah Jane Gargett, of Bishop Auckland, in the Intermediate Speech Championship, and George Inman, of Kimblesworth, in the Senior Speech Championship.
