PLANS to reinforce land at a Quaker burial ground to form a car park have been rejected.
The Friends Meeting House, in Skinnergate, Darlington, said the site would only be used for parking "occasionally" by older members of the congregation.
But Darlington Borough Council's planning committee yesterday rejected the plan because it conflicted with policies banning car parking in the town centre.
