ONCE again the school is celebrating our record GCSE/GNVQ results. Of the 204 pupils in the year group, 129, 63.2 per cent were awarded five or more A* to C grade GCSEs, surpassing last years record by 1.4 per cent.
The majority of these pupils have moved on to sixth form. Every pupil in the year group achieved a grade G, or better, in at least one subject.
The best results were seven A*s, two As and a B, and four A*s coupled with four As.
Many other pupils gained at least six grade As.
The A-level results were also pleasing, with a significant improvement on last year's figures.
The overall pass rate was 89 per cent, with 59.2 per cent gaining grades A to C.
Many pupils have achieved grade As, including a majority of pupils who have gained two or more grade As. Sixteen students passed at GNVQ Advanced Level (equivalent to two A levels) - 11 in business studies and five in health and social care.
Three students were awarded distinctions, with a further seven gaining merits. Intermediate level (equivalent to five GCSE grades A*-C) in leisure and tourism were gained by 11 students.
We would like to congratulate all students for their achievements, and we wish every one of them the best for the future.
