Auckland And District Ebac Youth League
DARREN Deuchars netted four goals for Willington in a 8-2 victory at home to Newton Aycliffe, their first league win - and Aycliffe's first defeat.
The game also featured goals from both goalkeepers, Willington keeper Michael Sanderson and Aycliffe netminder Richard Harnett both scoring penalties. The other scorers were Jason Howe (2) and Mark Raine for Willington and Michael Houlsham for Aycliffe.
Bishop Auckland consolidated their position at the top of group B in the league cup with a 5-1 success at home to Barnard Castle. Warren Burn (2), Neil Robinson, Dean Maddison and Michael Dixon were on target for Bishops, Mark Patterson replying for Barnard Castle.
.Willington
THE unbeaten record of the Under-10s in the Russell Foster short-sided Youth League came to an end with a 5-3 defeat by Riverside RAR. Jonathan Bains and Andrew Shields (2) got the goals. Earlier, Willington beat Holly Park Rangers 2-0 with goals from Johnny Walker and Tom Simmons. Shields was man of the match in both games.
The Willington U-8s played only one game, beating Hylton Castle 3-2 in a top of the table clash. Jordan Roberts scored all three goals.
The U-14s, top of the Russell Foster 11-a-side Premier Division, won 2-1 at Division One leaders Ayton Chevvies in the second round of the Durham County Cup. A hard-fought game was settled by a goal from Martin Hopps and an own goal. Brett Bowes was man of the match.

Byers Green
A five goal blitz from Daniel Russell helped the U-10s Haze to four valuable points at the weekend. In the first game Byers won 8-0 against Redby Whites with goals from Nick Ferguson, two each from Richard Suddes and DJ Simpson and a hat-trick from Daniel Russell. There was also a fine performance from Ethan Rivers who was instrumental in most of the goals.
In the second game Byers drew 4-4 with Plains Farm, coming back from 3-1 down to lead 4-3 until the last minute. Goals came from Ethan Rivers (2) and Russell (2).
Byers Green U-10s Bees also recorded four points at the weekend, defeating Riverside RAR 2-0 with goals from Micheal Condron and Tom Burn. In the second game Bees drew 1-1 with Riverside in a game they completely dominated, the goal courtesy of Tom Burn.
Byers Green U-nines Haze controlled most of play against Fulwell but failed to take their chances and had to settle for a 1-1 draw with a goal from Louis Dunn. In the second game Byers worked hard in poor conditions but lost 3-1 to Chester Athletic after a goal from Joseph Bell.
Byers Green U-nines Bees picked up four points at the weekend, drawing 1-1 with East Durham. Sam Green, with a wonderful free kick, equalised after being 1-0 at half time. In the second game Bees came back from a goal down to win 2-1 against City of Durham, both goals coming from Stevie Gavin.
Byers Green under-eights won one and lost one, defeating Pennywell 3-1 in the first game with goals from Chris Dodds, Ross Morrow and Dean Thexton. There was also a fine performance from man of the match Jack Marshall. In the second game, however, Byers went down by the same scoreline to Houghton Boys, with man of the match Callum Blanchard on target for the Green.
The U-15s played away to Nissan in the leauge on a very windy day and they came away with nothing, losing 2-1. Nissan took the lead midway through the first half only for Anthony Ebdon to notch an equaliser.
The second half saw Byers come out stronger only to see a late winner from Nissan to take all three points.
Darlington Boys
This was the often-quoted game of two halves. The first half saw Teesside open confidently and play some neat football, only to be frustrated by Darlington's man of the match, goalkeeper Andy Ward. The Boys gradually gained the upper hand and led 2-0 at half-time through an Ian Taylor penalty and a neat goal from Danny Eeles. The second half saw Teesside net six times through James Kenna (3), Paul Cronin, James Wilkins and Adam Rooney. Danny Kachel's goal was the only other highlight for the Boys as they went down 6-3.
Darlington Spraire Lads
O a handful of Spraire matches survived at the weekend because of the torrential rain. At Under-15 level, Spraire played Eston Juniors, and thanks to a penalty save from man of the match Wilson, Spraire kept Eston to a single goal while at the other end Seymour and Palmer scored for Spraire.
At Under-13, Spraire Dynamos took up from where they left off the previous week recording a 3-0 victory. McGee (2) and Cartwright scored the goals and man of the match, sponsored by opticians Cooper and Leatherbarrow, went to keeper Simon Ashton.
Spraire, at Under-16, again left it late before grabbing a point against Marske United. At 3-1 down, with ten minutes left, all seemed 1ost, when Stephenson grabbed two goals one from the penalty spot. The other goal came from. a superb corner by Emerson converted by a Gilbey header.
At Under-12 the A team were desperately unlucky to loose 1-0 to Norton and Stockton. The B team at this age level, also lost, going down 6-2 to Thirsk, the goals coming from Lee Borrowdale (2) while man of the match was Jonathen Petch.
The Under-nine A team entertained Hartlepool St. Aidans Under-10 in the Teesside Junior Alliance after in a hard-fought game in atrocious conditions lost 4-1. The Spraire scorers was Nicholas Petch and Thomas Smalley was man of the match.
Darlington Albion
THE U-10s' game at home to 21st Allstars in the Richmond and District League game was played under extreme weather conditions throughout the first half. Albion coped well, producing some excellent football, pushing Allstars back into their own half, creating chance after chance. Albion's persistance paid off and they led 5-0 at half time. Albion stepped up a gear with some clinical finishing to gain a 10-1 win with goals from Jonathan Weeks 4, Steve Wason 3 and Calum Tarren 3. Man of the match was Weeks.
In the second game, Albion were again in command and rewarded with a 2-0 advantage at half-time.In the second-half conditions deteriorated , the goalmouth resembling a mud bath. But both sides produced some fine and entertaining football despite the conditions. Albion got their reward with a 6-0 final score wiuth goals from Laura Gowling 4, Chris Farlow, Tarren. Man of the match was James Moorhen.
Two of the age groups' matches, the U-16s at Hawes, and the U-11s at Barnard Castle, were called off because of waterlogged pitches.
Darlington 21st Allstars
At seven-a-side level, in the Teesside Junior Alliance, the U-10s got back to winning ways with a deserved 1-0 victory at Hartlepool Juniors.
Liam Coates grabbed the tenth league goal of the season and Stephen Allenby was named man of the match.
In a subsequent friendly, lady luck smiled on the Allstars when a hailstorm brought an abrupt end to the match when they were losing 2-0. Liam Clarke was man of the match.
At 11-a-side, the U-11s made it 15 points out of 18 in the league with a comprehensive 6-1 victory at Nunthorpe Youth Club, Allstars' passing game totally
demoralising the home side.
Jack Henderson scored after 15 seconds and Lee Mullis, Ben Claxton, Freddie Huscroft and Mark Buckley(2) completed the rout. Claxton just pipped Mullis for the man of the match award.
The U-12 Colts travelled to First Division leaders Leven and did themselves no favours early on with two goals conceded in the first ten minutes.
Despite a battling display from the Colts after that, Leven managed a third goal, the final 3-0 scoreline certainly flattering the home side. Brendan Lally was named man of the match.
The U-15s were at Fishburn Boys and disappointingly lost 3-2. With an average performance in atrocious conditions, Allstars lacked any luck in front of goal, a Grant Rankine goal and an own goal being the only successes. Man of the match was Fergus Cowan.
Back at seven-a-side level, this time in the Richmondshire League, the U-10 Colts A team travelled the short distance to Darlington Albion and lost 10-1 in their only game. Chris Szoboszlia got the goal and Joe Watson was man of the match. The B team were also at Darlington Albion and lost their only game 5-0. Ryan Ford was man of the match.
Again at seven-a-side level in the Richmondshire League, the Under-nines were also at Darlington Albion, the A team winning 2-1, Dean Bland getting both the goals. Ben Riley was named man of the match. The Colts' team were also up against Darlington Albion and won 6-1 with two goals from Connor Richings and one each from Michael Johnston, Danny Cooper, Thomas McCabe and man of the match was Andrew Collins.
