A LADIES football team is seeking financial support from local businesses.
Darlington Ladies' Football Club play in the Northern Combination League, taking on the likes of Manchester United and Newcastle.
But the fact they have no sponsors means they are the poor relations of the league.
It costs £5,000 a year to run the team, and the reserves, which includes paying for kit, referee fees and training.
Team manager Tim Paver said: "We wouldn't expect someone to come forward with the full amount, but even half this would pay for the training.
"This is our first season in the Northern Combination and it would really help the team if we could attract financial support."
Darlington Ladies recently lifted themselves off the bottom of the league after two wins, and hope to escape relegation.
