CLEVELAND Hunt Pony Club held a very successful area presentations evening during the half term holiday.
Members aged from seven to 20 were there to receive rosettes and awards to commemorate their success at area and championship level. The club has had a very successful year all round, with the many rallies well attended.
A total of 69 members attended camp this year, the largest number for years, and many of these went on to area competitions.
Two Prince Phillip Games teams were entered and the junior team of Jenny and Rachel Chapman, Emma Coverdale, Erica and Josh Hockney and Lucy Sutcliffe won the area competition and went on to the zone finals.
The dressage team narrowly missed qualifying for the championships, but individuals Faye McDearmid and Susie Jennison were placed third and fifth respectively.
Two junior, two intermediate and two senior teams competed at the area show jumping. The senior team were joint second and just missed qualifying, one of the intermediate teams finished sixth, Stephanie Hardisty was placed fourth and Katie Hardisty was overall winner in the junior competition.
Seven members were entered for the open horse trials team, with Annalise Clements and Susie Jennison winning both sections. Toby Nightingale was runner-up to Susie and all qualified for the championships at Sansaw Park, where Susie was placed tenth.
On the tetrathlon front, 13 members travelled to West Cumbria for the area competition. Kerry Harston and Megan Williams were fifth and sixth in the open girls, Freddie Nightingale was fourth in the junior boys and his team were second overall.
Josh Hockney was fourth in the minimus boys, while Toby and Jack Nightingale were second and sixth in the open boys to qualify for the championships at Morton Morrell. Toby won the members competition and also received a silver award.
His excellent season was rounded off by selection for the UK team competing in the boys international tetrathlon championships. Toby finished fourth individually to lead his team to victory.
