AN east Durham village will once again go on parade to mark Remembrance Day.
Following the closure of Blackhall's branch of the Royal British Legion two years ago, the annual march past came to a halt.
However, after a public meeting, it has been decided to again hold a parade and church service.
This year, Blackhall's Poppy Day commemorations will be staged on Saturday, November 11.
Bob Steel, representing the Blackhall branch of the Royal Air Forces Association, said: "We have decided to hold the parade and service on the actual day, instead of the traditional Sunday."
The parade will leave the RAFA headquarters in Middles Street, Blackhall, at 10.30am and the service will be held at St Andrew's Church, at 10.45am
