A NEW-LOOK county council has been welcomed by Richmond's own administration.
The Mayor, Councillor John Harris, told a meeting that the new Cabinet-style of local government could mean the town getting a greater say on roads, social services and education.
He said: "We as a town now have a much more direct impact on the process of decision making at county level."
Coun Harris attended the first Richmondshire area committee meeting last month.
The next area committee meeting will be held at Colburn Village Hall, on Monday, January 15, when Richmond representatives hope to tackle the issue of town centre pedestrian crossings and public transport subsidies.
