A WOMAN who threatened to kill a Good Samaritan was placed on probation yesterday, on condition she received psychiatric treatment.

Teesside Crown Court heard that Valerie Hurry took a large carving knife into the bedroom where Erica Rudd was sleeping, and told her she was going to kill her.

Yesterday, Hurry, 55, of Bullamoor Road, Northallerton, admitted making a threat to kill, and was placed on probation for two years with a condition she receive psychiatric treatment.

Brian Hurst, prosecuting, said Mrs Rudd had learnt in May that Hurry was having some problems, and took her to her home where she looked after her.

That night, Mrs Rudd heard a noise and Hurry pushed the door of the bedroom open and walked in carrying a carving knife held to her chest.

She had a blank look on her face and said she was going to kill Mrs Hurst.

Aisha Wadoodi, for Hurry, said she had been cared for in St Luke's Hospital, Middlesbrough, since her arrest.

She had originally been in a distressed state, but was now a well turned out, respectable lady.
