POLICE are appealing for information after a robber targeted an elderly woman in Hartlepool.
It happened on Saturday at 6.10pm, at Anchor Court on the Headland, as the 77-year-old was on her way to a bingo session.
The thug attacked her from behind and kneed her in the back then pulled her handbag from her arm. Although unhurt, she was left badly shaken and distressed.
The man, who was seen running towards St Hilda's Church, was between 16 and 20 years of age and about 5ft 8in tall. He had broad shoulders and short dark hair and was wearing a cream-coloured jacket.
