A FERRYHILL family are appealing for help to trace their dog, which was scared off by a firework.
Angela and Gary Nutter's Bedlington cross, Taz, has not been seen since Sunday evening.
Four-year-old Taz is described as a look-a-like of Alfred, the dog owned by the character Greengrass, in Heartbeat.
Mrs Nutter, of Sadler Street, said: "My husband took him for a walk in a wood near where we live.
"Someone let a firework off and Taz then just took off. She is a very timid little dog who will go with anybody."
Anyone who spots Taz, who has a collar and tag , should ring (01740) 657169.
