A COMMUNITY centre has been given a make over, thanks to the work of offenders on community service.
Offenders on community service with Teesside Probation service, repainted the hall, including the ceiling and beams at Hardwick Community Centre, Stockton.
The community centre is home to the local nursery and hosts dance clubs, karate and badminton sessions and cookery courses. There are now plans to extend the centre's use further.
Hardwick councillor Bill Noble, who is also vice-chairman of the community centre said: "We couldn't praise the work of people on community service enough. Our committee is over the moon.
"Local people value this hall as a good community facility and we hope this improvement will be the start of even better things for Hardwick."
