PUPILS from St Francis CE Primary School proved themselves the strongest in Newton Aycliffe by winning a tug of war contest.
The children triumphed in the competition at St Clare's Church autumn fair at the weekend.
There was a good turnout at the annual event, which raised £1,944 for church funds.
One of the highlights was the grand draw. First prize of a three-piece suite, provided by Blenheim Upholstery, was won my Michael Lovelass, of Newton Aycliffe
