PARENTS will perform in memory of their son, at a charity concert in north Durham.
Eddie and Barbara Cresswell will sing at the Derwentside Multiple Sclerosis Group charity night, at Sandhole Workingmen's Club, Stanley, on Friday, November 24.
The couple, who live in Whickham, near Gateshead, lost their son, Brian, 31, to the illness, three years ago.
Other performers will include singer Billy Dobson and comedian John Hughes.
The Cresswells, who are both amateur singers, agreed to take part in the charity night when they heard it was on behalf of the Derwentside Multiple Sclerosis Group.
Mr Cresswell said that his wife had suffered a stroke recently, and music had helped the family cope.
He said: "Music has helped us get through all the tragedy in the family.
"If this concert can do a little bit of good that is even better. Brian was just 31 when he died. I just hope this can help the MS group in this area."
As well as entertainers, there will be a disco.
The event, arranged by Stanley woman Liz McVittie, starts at 7pm. Tickets are £1 at the door.
Only a limited number of seats will be available.
