A committee takes to the road next week as Richmondshire District Council continues to take local government to the people.
The environment team meets at Muker Village Hall on Tuesday, with a presentation planned by the Environment Agency on its new flood warning system.
Other issues include a briefing on free tests being offered on homes which may be at risk from radon gas. Colourless and odourless, it occurs naturally but is difficult to detect, and has been linked to cancer.
Areas thought to be at risk include the stretch of Swaledale between Marrick and Gunnerside, and between Redmire and Bainbridge, in Wensleydale.
"Effective measures to remove radon are relatively inexpensive, ranging from a few pounds to install air bricks to a few hundred pounds to install positive ventilation systems for the most badly affected homes," said environment unit manager Martin Garside.
"The key thing is to identify those homes where action needs to be taken and that is what this programme is designed to achieve."
Tuesday's meeting begins at 6.30pm. Further details are available by telephoning Sue Elliott-Lyle on (01748) 829100
