PUPILS from Mowbray School, at Bedale, were dreaming of a high-flying career when they visited an RAF base. The youngsters paid a visit to RAF Leeming, where they were shown a video detailing all the aircraft flown from there.
They also got hands-on experience of life as a pilot when they visited the base's survival equipment section, trying on helmets and flying jackets, as well as climbing in and out of survival dinghies and ejector seats.
Their visit ended with a chance to meet the RAF police guard dogs, followed by a close look at one of the 100 Squadron Hawk jets
