Whitley Braves had a comprehensive win over Sheffield Greyhounds in an English Under-19 North B League match at Queen's Road. Braves, 15-3 winners, got off to a good start by scoring on the powerplay after 57 seconds from Paul Graham. Neil Bainbridge. Graham, Richard Horkan and Mark Good (2) gave Whitley a 6-0 lead at the end of the first period.
Bryan Dunn scored a brace in the middle session which was shared 2-2 with the game won after the first period. Gordon Ford gave way for Max Hadfield in Braves net for the remainder of the match. Whitley hit a further seven in the third which saw Graham, Dunn and Good complete hat-tricks. Good finished as top scorer with 4+3.

Sunderland Arrows captain Stephen Laidler scored all his side's four goals, but could not stop them losing 7-4 at Telford Rockets. The scores were level at 2-2 after two closely contested periods. Four goals in over two minutes between 36.27 and 38.39 saw Telford into a 6-2 lead. Laidler reduced Rockets' lead with his third at 40.22. However, the home side struck back a minute later. There was still time for Laidler to score another with three minutes left. Arrows are still without a victory in English Junior (Under-16) North A League.

In the same competition, Billingham Bears returned from Queen's Road ice rink pointless following their tie at league leaders Sheffield Rapiers. When captain Paul Harland was thrown out of the game after only 49 seconds it was going to be difficult. He received a five plus game misconduct for roughing.
Bears conceded only one goal in the first period and two goals early in the second put Sheffield on course to keep in tact their 100 per cent start to the season. Sheffield shook Billinghm with six goals in as many minutes either side of the middle period to go into a 9-0 lead. They completed their victory with a tenth late in the game.
Billingham Falcons also met Sheffield opposition at English Pee-Wee (Under-14) North A League level. Falcons hosted Sheffield Stormers at the Forum ice arena on Saturday lunchtime. Sheffield went ahead in the second minute and increased their lead at 8.13. Falcons put them back into the tie when James Udell struck with a solo effort at 10.51.
Stormers raced into a 7-1 lead when they scored five goals in three minutes. Udell grabbed a second for Falcons in the 18th minute. In the final period Falcons improved with some strong defensive work to restrict Sheffield to just a single goal.

Sunderland Cherokees came from behind to defeat Telford Terrahawks at Hillheads, in English Bantam (Under-12) North A League. Telford went ahead in the seventh minute. Cherokees drew level through Martyn Davies three minutes later. Telford went 4-1 ahead following three strikes in as many minutes by 16.51. Goals either side of the interval from James Moutrey and Davies. Terrahawks went into a two-goal lead at 30.01.
Cherokees' recovery came with three strikes in under two minutes from Richard Emerson, Davies and Mark Robson for a 6-5 victory at 36.05.
Telford called a time out at 38.30 but failed to gain a game tieing goal.

Whitley Bay Mischiefs went to Blackburn Merlins for an English U-10 North League encounter. Bobby Mole and Adam Perrie were on target for Mischiefs in the first period which ended 2-2. Early in the final session Liam Brown and Jack Cannon put Whitley into a 4-2 advantage.
Mischiefs were on top in this final period and Mole, Perrie and Callum Watson wrapped up the victory with three further goals.
