A COLLEGE which trains disabled people for work is gearing up to celebrate the festive season in style.
Finchale Training College, on the outskirts of Durham, is holding its Christmas fair on Saturday, December 2, from 10am to 4pm. The event, which will raise money for its students, will include a wide variety of entertainment and stalls.
Among the attractions lined up are international character singer Stevie Jay, music from Framwellgate Moor Primary School and Chester-le-Street Methodist choir, performances by Sunderland City Dance Troupe, story telling, and a draw for a mountain bike, donated by Provident Personal Credit.
College spokeswoman Rachel Chetwyn said: "The Christmas fair is a major fundraising event for the college. This year we are hoping to raise between £1,500 and £2,000. The money will benefit the students here.''
