BLIND people across Stockton will be receiving Christmas cards in Braille.
The Open Technology Centre, at Stockton Central Library, and Stockton Blind People's Voice, have got together for the scheme.
Those who wish to send blind or visually impaired people a card can have their message written in Braille.
George Glass, the chairman of Stockton Blind People's Voice, said: "I receive a great many cards, but only one or two are ever written in braille.
"They are the only cards that I can read myself, and I really treasure them. While it is nice to receive so many hand-written cards they could be blank pieces of card as far as I am concerned."
Anyone wanting to take advantage of the service, which is free, should take their card to the technology centre, in the library. For information ring the library on (01642) 393997.
