I the second round of the North Riding Saturday Challenge Cup, Spennithorne grabbed a late winner to go through 3-2 at home to Anchor Inn from Guisborough.
Paul Orton put them ahead from the penalty spot after 13 minutes and they held the lead until the 65th minute when the visitors equalised.
Within a minute Anchor took the lead, only for Richard Lambert to level the scores for Spennithorne. With five minutes to go, the home side grabbed the winner with a 20-yard free kick by Neil Atkinson.
Leyburn travelled to Huntsman of Guisborough and won a place in the next round of the competition with a 3-0 victory.
After a goalless first half, Leyburn scored through Richard Meehan (2) and James Wilkinson.
Swale Travaux faced Great Ayton Utd and had a comfortable 5-2 victory. Early goals by John Potter and Derek Welland gave them a 2-0 advantage and Andy Kelly netted a third.
The visitors hit back to reduce the arrears and after 35 minutes Travaux missed a great chance to regain their three-goal lead when William McCauley had his penalty kick saved by the Ayton keeper.
On the hour the home side went further in front through Potter and after 78 minutes McCauley made amends for his earlier miss with a fifth goal. Two minutes from time Ayton netted a second goal.
A waterlogged pitch forced Hawes B to transfer their home tie
to Richmond Mavericks, but they were never in the hunt as they were beaten 14-1.
Mavericks netted three times in the first half, with Gary Richardson replying for Hawes, and led 3-1 at the interval.
In the second half the visitors were unable to stem the flow of goals by the home side. Robbie Barker netted four times, John Sinclair hit three, and Ben Waite and Andrew Mollitt two each. Tim Waite, Matthew Pollock and Martin Clark scored the remainder.
The Carperby against London North Eastern Railway match and Lingdale versus Bowes ties were both called off because of waterlogged grounds and will be played this weekend.
With the four leading sides involved in the North Riding Saturday Challenge Cup, Bishopdale took the chance to move into fifth place with a 2-1 home victory over Middleham Town, their fourth successive league win.
The visitors took the lead after ten minutes through Richard Weedall and held on to their advantage until the 65th minute when Dave Harmsworth headed in the equaliser for the home side. With 15 minutes to go Andy Reaks put Bishopdale in front with a header and they held on to take the points.
After three successive drawn games, Catterick Garrison claimed their first win in six outings with a 3-1 victory at Redmire.
The home side played well in the first half but there were no goals before the interval. Five minutes after the break the visitors were awarded a penalty for a foul in the area and Matthew Blood put them ahead from the spot-kick.
Garrison took a grip on the game after 65 minutes when a header by Steven Ramsey gave them a 2-0 lead and four minutes later he added a third with another header.
Askrigg ended a disappointing run of three successive defeats when they entertained Catterick Village and won 3-0. Martin Alderson put them in front on the half hour and two minutes later James Peacock added a second.
Gary Cockerill made it 3-0 after 41 minutes to put the home side in command at the break.
After the interval, Catterick had plenty of possession but were unable to cut back the deficit and Askrigg took the points.
The match between Reeth and Hawes United was postponed because of waterlogging.
