Crook and District League
Crook Wanderers remain unbeaten and go top after beating Byers Green St Peters. Goals from Stephen Emery and Chris Pounder saw the Wanderers two up. Byers Green pulled one back but man of the match Stephen Emery restored the two goal cushion. A spirited Byers Green comeback brought them back to 3-3 but a late match winner from Wanderers sub Mark Nichols foiled them.
Stanhope faced tough opposition when they entertained Cockfield in the Auckland Charity Cup. A goal in the first minute from John Lee gave Stanhope an excellent start. They continued to have a good opening fifteen minutes but were unable to extend their advantage. After equalising through David Wilkinson after 16 minutes, Cockfield took the lead five minutes later through Michael Lee. A third goal followed just before half time through sub Gareth Jackson. Stanhope did well for much of the second half but Cockfield added a fourth from Stuart Proud two minutes from time.
Howden Australian went down 6-0 at home to Darlington RA after trailing 4-0 at half time.
