AN exhibition has opened at a town library to remember those who gave their lives during the two world wars.
The display at Spennymoor Library includes memorabilia provided by local people, including model aeroplanes, photographs and station passes.
There is also a miniature cenotaph and information about the Poppy Appeal.
Paul Harper, 60, Poppy Appeal organiser and member of the Royal British Legion's Spennymoor branch, said: "We hold this exhibition to draw the attention to remembrance weekend, and also because the need still goes on for the Poppy Appeal because there have been wars since, such as the Falklands.
