First Division leaders Redcar WMC were beaten for the first time this season by Carlin How A in the Bass Breweries sponsored league. Mark Earl won his first frame beating Gary Beckett of Redcar WMC 61-43. The second frame was a closely contested affair with Gary winning on a black ball fight, the scoreline was 59-50. Carlin How's Gary Moon then went on to win his first frame beating Dave Beckett 61-36. Dave then came back to win the second 63-28. The frame score at this stage was tied at two each. Andrew Shelley then took centre stage sealing the match for Carlin How when winning his two frames against Mark Andrews, 65-40 and 58-45. The final frame score was 4-2 in Carlin How's favour.

In Division Two leaders Saltburn Cons. A were beaten by on form Lakes SC, the frame score ending 4-2. Guisborough TA were back into a winning streak after beating Guisborough Cons B 5-1. Saltburn Cons. B remain rooted to the bottom of the table after being beaten by Marske WMC B. The frame score finished at 5-1. In the remaining two matches the B team from Redcar Unionist's were beaten by 4-2 by Carlin How B and Redcar Cons. B were held to a draw by Redcar Unionist A.

Ithe first round of matches played at Hunwick Club, Heppell Hodgson won all three points against Ken Robinson although a missed red prevented Robinson from salvaging one of the points.
In the second match Norman Kirkley comfortably took the first two points against Robinson but then lost his touch and dropped the third point. There was a similar result for Kirkley when he played Hodgson, where he slipped up for the last point.
On November 16, at Hunwick, the round robin matches will be between Trevor Lomax, Fred Lintern and Arnold Fleming.
Worthington CIU Championship
Ithe first round played at Hunwick Club, Heppell Hodgson came through the round robin undefeated after he knocked in a 33 break to beat Keith Mitchell by eight points.
Mitchell took second place with wins against John Hall and Norman Kirkley, knocking in a 30 break to clinch his win. Kirkley took the third qualifying spot after he beat Hall, who must now wait to see if he can qualify as a highest loser.
