EVEN the most talented footballers can find a 90-minute match exhausting - so plans for a 24-hour game this weekend will be a feat of endurance.
Ten students from Spennymoor School plan to start playing football at 11am today, and will not be throwing in the towel until 11am tomorrow.
The goal is to raise money for Children in Need, and the group of 16 and 17-year-olds say they are ready for their challenge.
One of the players, David Bowtell, said: "It will be the same ten players taking part in a five-a-side match for 24 hours.
"We will have a little break for dinner and for drinks, but otherwise it will be continuous."
Head of Sixth Form Mark Tilling said: "They've come up with this idea themselves, I think it's superb. We're all fully behind them."
The match will be held at Spennymoor School's sports hall.
