MURDER hunt detectives are appealing for prostitutes to come forward after receiving fresh evidence about the movements of vice girl Vicky Glass on the day she disappeared.

Police have spoken to a man with whom Vicky was seen leaving a house in Princes Road, Middlesborough, in the early hours of September 24 - probably the day on which she was murdered.

The last report police had was that the 21-year-old was last seen alive at 1.30am on that Sunday. They now believe she was dropped off by a taxi outside the Shipmate pub, at the bottom of Union Street, at about 4am.

Detective Superintendent Brian Dunn, who is leading the inquiry, said: "At that time there were three or four other prostitutes working in the area.

"We are anxious to speak to those girls, and any other prostitutes working in the area at the time, even if they did not see Vicky.

"We also want to speak to anyone who was in this area at the time. Some could be clients but, at this time of the morning, they could be delivery drivers, newsagents - anybody out and about on the streets.''

Mr Dunn added: "Any information they have - no matter how small - could prove vital, and all calls will be treated in the strictest confidence."

People can ring the incident room on (01642) 301283 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

Vicky who was 5ft 3in tall and lived in the Cannon Park area of the town, was last seen wearing light grey trousers, white trainers and a white T-shirt with a sports logo. Her naked remains were found on moorland close to West Lane, Danby, a week ago yesterday. She turned to prostitution to feed her heroin addiction.
