FIVE female generations of the same family shared an emotional moment when they came together for the first time in Ferryhill.
May Katherine Hutchinson, 87, became a great-great-grandmother when little Shannon Louise Short was born at the end of last month.
But she had to wait ten days to see the new addition to her extended family.
Shannon's mum Leanne Elizabeth, 16, now lives in Hull with her mother Sharon Elizabeth, 35.
But when they baby was born they were determined to pay a visit to their home town to get all the family together.
The whole family gathered together for the first time (Fri) at the Ferryhill home of Sarah Elizabeth Short, 57, who is May's daughter and Shannon's great-grandmother.
Sharon, who arranged the whole thing, said: "It was the first time we've all been together and it was overwhelming - my Nana filled up, she really did."
Now that the family has met up, Sharon says they are hoping to make these reunions a regular event
She said: "We're going to come back to get a Christmas photograph done as well and we're just going to keep coming up to Ferryhill to try and spend as much time together as we can."
