A NORTH-EAST student will find out today whether he has been crowned GCSE Student of the Year at an awards ceremony in London.
Dominic Charles Morgan, a pupil at High Tunstall Comprehensive, in Hartlepool, has already been honoured in the social sciences section as the top performer out of three million entries from England, Wales and Northern Ireland to exams set by the Assessment and Qualifications Alliance.
The 16-year-old is one of 13 finalists in the running for this year's gold award, as well as a cheque for £100, at the event, which is sponsored by Barclays.
