A MAN has admitted being involved in an attempted break-in at a post office over a Bank Holiday weekend.
David Fisher, 41, yesterday pleaded guilty to conspiring with others to burgle Bishop Auckland Post Office, between April 30 and May 3 last year.
Mark Styles, prosecuting, told Durham Crown Court that Fisher, who was seen outside the premises, claimed that he had been recruited "late in the day" as a getaway driver by others involved in the burglary.
Mr Styles said that the prosecution believed he was acting a "look-out", but, either way, it was accepted that Fisher "was not the principal organiser".
Sentence was adjourned, pending the preparation of probation reports.
Fisher, of Viola Crescent, Sacriston, near Chester-le-Street, was bailed to return with two other men, who have already admitted burgling the premises
