A man who plans to name and shame paedophiles on the Internet is due to appear in court charged with conspiring to abduct a North-East child, it emerged last night.
Stuart Carnie, 37, from Aberdeen, who runs a volunteer organisation called Caring for Children, said he wanted people to be told if convicted child sex offenders were living in their area.
He is one of eight people charged in connection with the alleged abduction of a 12-year-old boy from Sunderland last February.
Northumbria police said last night that Carnie would be appearing at Newcastle Crown Court on Friday.
Carnie came under fire yesterday after he said he hoped to be posting the first online pages with names, addresses and photographs of convicted paedophiles on his website in about a week
