PRIME Minister Tony Blair has recorded the introduction to a Ferryhill town video.
Orders are now being taken for the video, which charts the history of the town, and is called Ferryhill - Past, Present and Future.
Mr Blair agreed to provide the introduction when visiting his Sedgefield constituency last weekend.
He said: "I was delighted to be given the opportunity to introduce the town's excellent video.
"This year, as part of the town's millennium celebrations, I was pleased to be asked to unveil the sun dial and see the replica colliery banners at the town hall.
"These items, along with other projects, are fitting reminders of a very special year, which can be enjoyed by local people and visitors for many years to come.
"And there are exciting projects for the future, including the proposal to develop the old football ground."
The video has been produced by award-winning film maker Mike Bell, with a soundtrack provided by Ferryhill Town Band.
It costs £8, and is sponsored by Lafarge Lime and Lafarge Aggregates.
Ferryhill Town Council executive officer Jamie Corrigan, said: "It's been viewed by the community partnership group and they thought it was excellent."
The video should be available before Christmas, and can be ordered from the town hall, or by calling (01740) 652157.
