Darlington midfielder Gary Himsworth has become the latest player to sign a new contract.
Neil Aspin, Adam Reed, Brian Atkinson and Glenn Naylor all signed two-year deals earlier in the week, and now the former York player, who could be back in the starting line up tomorrow after injury, has also committed himself.
The news will come as a boost to the fans, who were fearing another player exodus from Feethams.
And chairman George Reynolds, who is holding talks iwth Craig Liddle, believes that Quakers are on a high again.
Reynolds gave manager Gary Bennett the go-ahead to strengthen his squad, and Bennett has made enquiries about several players.
"We will see a big change in the players," said Reynolds. "They are on a high again, because their heads dropped a little bit with the uncertainty."
Quakers beat a Newcastle side 3-2 in a friendly at Chester-le-Street yesterday.
l Leeds winger Jason Wilcox again has Champions League football in his sights after finally emerging from the shadows of an ''horrendous'' injury-hit last six months.
Wilcox returned to action on Wednesday, playing 90 minutes of a 4-1 reserves win over Bradford.
