In most cases it appeared if some heavy load was passing, or as if some heavy wagon had just been suddenly unloaded, a distinct tremor of all parts of the houses being noticed. At the Gasworks, the manager thought there had been some tampering with the retorts.

From this newspaper 25 years ago. - Darlington's Hell's Angels are facing their fourth eviction order from Darlington County Court this year as well as a threat that their motor bikes will be confiscated to pay for future costs. Four of the angels turned up to hear an application for possession of their present home, 6 Winston Street, from Durham County Council on Thursday.
