NEW equipment to help people with mobility problems has been provided by Darlington Borough Council.
Councillor Nick Wallis, cabinet member for highways and transport, presented two motorised scooters and a motorised wheelchair to the town's Shopmobility project.
The £5,000 needed for the equipment has been provided by the authority's Transport Policy Forum.
The electric Rascal scooters and electric Spectra wheelchair will be based with Shopmobility at the Darlington Association on Disability office in Horsemarket.
Shopmobility provides a free, short-term wheelchair loan service to help people with mobility problems access town centre facilities.
