A GRAPHIC designer was left with a fractured skull and jaw after an attack by four teenagers.
Justin McRoy, 21, is afraid to go out at night and has lost his job after the attack on July 3 last year.
Newcastle Crown Court heard yesterday how Stuart Little, 18, Andrew Davidson, 17, and two younger accomplices, one 13, attacked Mr McRoy.
Prosecutor Roger Elsey said: "Justin McRoy was subjected to a sustained and vicious attack."
Little and Davidson were found guilty by a jury at Durham Crown Court to causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
The younger boys, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were found guilty of assault and unlawful wounding.
Defence barrister Chris Prince, for Davidson, who was 16 at the time of the attack, said he expressed "deep remorse" about what happened.
Little was jailed for two-and-a-half years and Davidson for 18 months.
The two younger defendants were given supervision orders for two years
