A WOMAN from the region is to judge at the Oscars of the bird world next month.
Liz Murry, from Stockton, has been chosen for the judging panel at the National Cage and Aviary Birds Exhibition, at the NEC Birmingham.
The biggest bird show of the year is expected to attract more than 15,000 people.
The show is in its 57th year and will include performances from Longleat's parrots, whose skills include riding bikes and roller-skating.
Also on show will also be a string of bird magic acts and the popular Talented and Talking Bird Competition.
Liz said yesterday: "I am looking forward to judging at such a prestigious show. The show has some great attractions and I am glad to be part of it."
Celebrity strongman Geoff Capes will be presenting the trophies at the show, on December 2 and 3.
