A group of business people from Eston have supported a bid from Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council to bid for Home Office money for new CCTV cameras.
It is hoped new security cameras in the town will encourage more development the area by reducing crime and violence.
More than a third of all businesses in Eston attended a meeting about the cameras and they all supported the move.
