A CAMPAIGN to give a brave little boy a fantastic Christmas is gathering pace with businesses coming forward to donate more than 20 prizes.
The goods will be used in a raffle to raise funds for Cameron Murray, a 15-month-old County Durham youngster, who was struck down by meningitis in the summer.
Staff at Hays Travel, in Bishop Auckland, launched the appeal, Cameron's Christmas, after being touched by the tot's plight.
Cameron had to have his left foot and hand, the fingers on his right hand and half his right leg amputated. Since then, the bubbly youngster has fought back and made a good recovery.
He is looking forward to a trip to Lapland next month, organised by staff at Hays Travel, as well as a great Christmas.
The donated goods for the raffle include a pampering day with a beauty therapist, a hair cut and manicure, and a designer clothing voucher.
Lisa Metcalfe, assistant manager, at Hays, said: "We're getting a really nice response from local people, and we've managed to sell quite a few raffle tickets so far. We're hoping to hit the streets next week to sell even more."
The raffle tickets are available at Hays Travel in Newgate Street priced £1 per strip.
