TWO teenage boys raped a 16-year-old girl after dragging her from a railway platform.
The girl was waiting at the Metro station at Jarrow when her attackers, thought to be aged 15 or 16, grabbed her.
They forced her up an embankment into bushes, opposite Albert Road, where she was raped.
The girl had been heading to South Shields when the rape happened between 10.15pm and midnight on Friday.
Her attackers are both white. One has short, light-coloured hair and is about 5ft 8in, while his accomplice has dark hair and is slightly smaller.
Detectives particularly want to speak to three men seen at the station walkway leading towards Albert Road.
They also want anyone in the area of the station, Albert Road or Leopold Street, at the time of the attack, to come forward.
Anyone with information can call police on 0191-454 7555.
