WHEELIE bins are expected to be distributed throughout a town after they met with the approval of residents.
A trial of the mobile refuse containers began in two areas of Middlesbrough in April, for six months.
During its operation, a careful check was kept on its progress. A helpline for residents to voice their opinions was manned before and during the trial, with a questionnaire sent out on its completion.
By the closing date of October 16, 5,953 forms had been returned, of which most expressed overwhelming approval for the bins.
Now, councillors are expected to endorse the introduction of the containers throughout Middlesbrough at a meeting today.
Arrangements will be made at households where occupants are unable to manoeuvre the bins themselves for assistance to be provided.
