PARENTS who recently lost their daughter to breast cancer have made possible a new lending library on the subject in a north Durham town.
Bill and Eileen Ferguson of Stanley, whose 25-year-old daughter Lisa, died from the disease, donated an undisclosed sum of money to the Stanley Breast Cancer Support Group to start the library.
The books were chosen by group members and are a mixture of informative and personal stories about cancer.
Mrs Ferguson officially handed over the books, which are dedicated to Lisa with the inscription "a shining example of courage, an inspiration".
John and Joanne Taylor of Stanley have also donated £287.25 to the library, raised through a canoe challenge.
The Stanley Breast Cancer Support group meets on the first Tuesday of each month at Stanley Health Centre. Go along, or call Coping With Cancer North-East on 0191-268 0011.
