A NEW out-of-school club has been set up in east Cleveland to help young parents.
Based at Skelton Junior School, the Happy Hut offers free childcare places to parents of school age children, in a scheme funded by Skelton Regeneration Budget's (SRB) youth inclusion programme.
The aim of the scheme, which was originally set up by the school's teachers and governors, is to give parents the chance to pursue employment, education or training without the worry of childcare.
Project officer Pat Watson said: "We'd love to hear from young parents in the area. It's a great opportunity for them to branch out, and I can guarantee the children will enjoy themselves at the Happy Hut."
To qualify, people must be under the age of 25, living in the Skelton SRB area, which includes North Skelton, New Skelton and Skelton Green, and already participating in other SRB activities.
They must be undertaking other training or education, or in part-time employment and not entitled to claim childcare costs from any other source.
