JEAN Swinburn was special guest at the BSJA Area 12/2A held at the Chilton Country Hotel, Fencehouses and received two bronzes of a mare foal and showjumper for her service as area representative for the past 15 years, writes Malcolm Bewsher.
Joe and David Harland clinched the seven trophies in the junior section with their ponies Grey Guy and Ultimate Challenge while another consistent area Showjumper of the Year award went to Rae Louise Farmer and her top 13.2 pony Golden Fortune.
Other junior awards went to Sara Martin with Zeemax; Emma Denton on Stainsby Hotspot; Amy Young on Bensons Pure Gold; Becky Meek on Sir Watkin and Kelly Douglas with New Inn Hot Shot.
The junior Newcomers champion was Jade Cairns with Oldshott Autumn Moonbeam while senior went to double winner Phillipa McKeever on Crown Reaction. Katherine Leak was a double winner on Lady Boss; along with Alison Lines on Rocktops My Mystery and Christopher Hill on Sharpham.
Other points winners were Margaret Swinburn on Springwell Flight; Angie Mills on Gibside Sarleen; Steve Wright on Dovecot Martine and Ki, Fletcher on Joanne Roseberry's Penshaws Parsons Advocate while the Stainsby Grange Trophy went to Samantha Nurse.
A minute's silence was held in memory of Tom Herriott and Helen Burrows who were tragically killed in a car accident the previous weekend near their home at Coxhoe.
l David Harland scored a double win at Stainsby Grange Junior Show by clinching the open riding Colourwoo Colando ahead of Rachel Whitford riding L A Flashback
He also took the small pony open with Grey Guy ahead of Winter 138cm winner Flyaway Peter ridden by Darren Smith.
Jodie Ward riding the Scottish-bred Duncrynes Jungle Bunny took the Winter 128cm qualifier while the winter JC went to Stephanie Robinson riding Little Irish Lad ahead of Sara Martin riding Zeemax.
Bradley Valks riding Red Rhino continued his good run of wins with Red Rhino in the Newcomers ahead of Sally Jane Adams riding Kosmic King while Bradley's brother Adam riding Sagitarriu was runner up in the member cup behind Carla Bowman riding Phoenix Inquisitive.
Joe Harland riding Ultimate Challenge took the 11 years and under ahead of James Reveley riding Dynamite Diggy.
