AN indoor sports centre is to be built in the grounds of a Hartlepool school.
The complex will include a fitness room, creche, netball courts and car parking.
Hartlepool Borough Council has agreed planning permission for centre, at Brierton Comprehensive School.
Although some residents had complained about the possible increase in traffic affecting property prices, the council allowed the plan to go ahead.
Outline permission had already been agreed, with the detailes approved at a meeting earlier this week.
A council spokesman said: "With the landscaped buffer, together with the relationships and separation distance, residential amenity should not be significantly affected. The head of highways and transportation is satisfied with the access and car parking."
