MORE than 400 runners are expected to stream out of the gates of Richmond Castle tomorrow when the gun fires to start the town's 10km race.
A strong field, which includes entrants from as far afield as London and Aberdeen, will start at 11am, with the winner expected to finish in about half an hour.
Among them will be town councillor and deputy mayor Tom Burrows who is under additional pressure to finish well - he has to present the awards to the winners.
The route, recognised by the British Athletics Federation as an affiliated 10km course, follows paths from the castle, up Sleegill Longwood Banks, back to the Swale at Easby, and returning to the town centre via the Brompton road.
Organisers the Swaledale Road Runners will present £1,000 from the proceeds to the Easby Riverside Restoration Project.
