JOBLESS youngsters in Hartlepool are being given the chance to work in the health service.
A number of people have already gained permanent posts at Hartlepool General Hospital, thanks to a scheme of modern apprenticeships.
Through the project, which is backed by the North Hartlepool Single Regeneration Budget Partnership, up to six young people from the North Hartlepool Partnership area are taken on each year, to gain experience and training in customer care, administration, and catering.
The three-year apprenticeships also include gaining appropriate National Vocational Qualifications.
Six young people, in the 16 to 20 age group, have been taken on this year.
Now another six places have been created for a two-year accelerated apprenticeship at the hospital.
Anyone interested should contact John Brown on (01429) 284089, or Paul Urwin on (01429) 522334. The deadline for applications is the end of January
