A £25,000 window in memory of a former curate has been dedicated at a Darlington church.
Father Michael Wilson was remembered in a dedication service at St James' Church, Albert Hill, conducted by the former Bishop of Beverley, the Right Reverend John Gaisford.
Fr Wilson, who was curate at the church for 18 years, died in 1998.
He was a former solicitor at Latimer Hinks, in Priestgate, Darlington, and a sports lover, who owned a racehorse and was Middlesbrough Football Club season ticket holder.
The restored window, in the south transept, was bought with parishioners' donations.
The tinted glass window, with abstract images, was created by Alan Todd.
Father Ian Grieves, of St James's Church, said: "Michael was a diverse, colourful character who was very clever and had an interest in many things."
